Section E: Grooming Consents & Risk Acknowledgements

Matting release: I understand that severely matted coats can be painful to brush out and may require a full shave-down for my dog's welfare ("humanity before vanity"). I consent to this being carried out at the groomer's discretion where necessary, and understand this may involve an additional fee.

Inherent risks: I understand that dog grooming carries inherent risks, including but not limited to minor nicks or cuts, clipper irritation, brush burn, or stress-related reactions, and I consent to my dog being groomed on this basis.

Flea and tick clause: I confirm my dog is currently free of fleas and ticks to the best of my knowledge. If fleas or ticks are found during grooming, I authorise treatment at my cost (approx. $25). If a paralysis tick is found, I understand the groomer will immediately stop the service and I will be advised to seek urgent veterinary attention.

Health disclosure: I confirm that I have disclosed all known medical conditions, medications, allergies, and behavioural issues relevant to my dog's grooming. I understand that failing to disclose relevant information may affect the groomer's ability to safely care for my dog and may limit the groomer's liability for any resulting complications.

Right to stop and charge: I understand that if my dog becomes too stressed, aggressive, or unsafe to continue grooming, the groomer has the right to stop the service at any point for the welfare of the dog and staff. I agree to pay for the time and work completed up to that point.

Emergency veterinary authorisation: In the event of a medical emergency during grooming, I authorise DDP Dog Grooming to seek emergency veterinary treatment for my dog on my behalf, up to a cost of $500, and to use the emergency contact details I provide below. I understand I will be responsible for reimbursing any such costs.
